Holiday Weddings = Fabulous!

Nothing could be more lovely then a gorgeous Christmas season wedding. Tastefully done obviously. The right colors.. the right decor.. and obviously a Christmas tree or 15 tucked into the decor of your reception. With Christmas being my favorite time of year, I would thoroughly embrace this idea and make it my own. All you need are a couple trees.. some White twinkling lights.. and some christmas-esqe spectacular.. Hello, Holiday Wedding~

All one really needs is the right color and fabric for the Bridesmaids.. and the right reception decor. White being the predominant color in a Winter Wonderland theme.. White flowers, white tables linens.. White white white.. as far as the eye can see. Nothing says timeless, and Christmas like some white lights, christmas trees, bows, and flowers then white. Soft and pretty.. its a perfect color. Oh.. and some snowflakes. Somewhere..

Now when it comes to Bridesmaids.. White is a Horrendous choice. The obvious color for a holiday theme wedding is a Iridescent Wine taffeta. Hello.. all little girls wore a little Wine color dress to a holiday party when they were kids.. Some kids, not to date myself or anything, wore little velvet dresses.. but seeing as though a velvet bridesmaid dress is slightly terrible, Taffeta is the ideal choice. There you have.. Red and White.. the perfect holiday colors. Leave out the green, unless you are counting the green of a christmas tree.. A green that is too flashy might look like a bad Holiday wrapping paper.

Flamenco Ruffles Are Swirling..

We are officially right smack dab in the middle of a ruffle storm.  Everyone is asking for Ruffles.  Ruffled Skirts being the major “oh my god give it to me” must have item.  Gone are the days of the flat, plain, boring A-line skirt.. Today the sun is shining.. and it’s shining in row, tiers, flouncy ruffles.  The idea of Ruffles has long been the look of choice by the Latin culture.. with the glorification of Flamenco, Salsa, and other latin dances. Apparently, they were on to something.  I love the idea of Excess.. of skirts swirling, layers fluffing about, the taste of sangria on my lips.. Wait. Sorry. Getting a bit distracted now.

I personally love the idea of tiers of ruffles.  These ruffles can be going horizontal around, or even vertical.. I don’t really mind either.. I just love the glorious idea of the fabric swishing, moving, blowing in the softest breeze.. OMG… Give it to me.  It really puts a smile on my face to be sitting at the bar, Vodka Soda, with extra lime obviously, in my hand.. to then see a glorious girl come breezing by with her ruffles lightly blowing about her. I think I’m smiling now just thinking about it.
